HISTORY HALO

It all began in 1981 with founder Helge Petersen suspended in a parachute between heaven and earth, when he began to wonder why his wetsuit was wet when the parachute was completely dry.

With a background in the Danish Special Forces and many years as a runner, Helge used the parachute to create an innovative range of functional products focusing onaccent details and comfort.

At the time, Danish special forces excelled at jumping from high altitudes with a small opening, and now,three decades later, HALO pays tribute to both the founder and the legacy of Newline.

High-altitude military parachuting is a method of delivering military personnel, military equipment andautres military supplies from a high-altitude transport aircraft with free-fall parachute insertion .Two techniques are used: HALO (high altitude - low opening) and HAHO (high altitude - high opening) .In the HALO technique ,the parachutist opens his parachute at low altitude after free-falling for a certain time .

At Aalborg air base, parachutes are packed by the Rigger Master, a person occupying an extremely important and prestigious position .The master rigger's workshop is located in building 223 of the air base; the area where soldiers are trained to carry out airborne operations for the Armed Forces.

The number 223 is featured on selected styles - for example, the HALO jacket .

A Rigger Master is a person trained or authorized to pack, maintain or repair parachutes .A rigger must understand fabrics, hardware, straps, regulations, sewing, packing andautres aspects related to parachute construction, packing, repair and maintenance.

ATW

The letters ATW are printed on the shoulders and calves of several models in the various HALO collections. ATW standsfor Aalborg Tactical Wing,the nom of the building at Aalborg air base where special forces parachutes are repaired and approved .The parachutes are nylon,and all ATW styles are technical garments made from synthetic and dryfit materials.

To join the Danish Special Forces, you need to be in very good health, with exceptional self-discipline, self-confidence and the ability to work in extreme conditions. The Corps also demands high moral standards, self-criticism andendurance as well as advanced cooperative skills.

FUT

FUT is a military acronym for Physical Education and Training (Fysisk Uddannelse & Træning) - the original training program, which many soldiers have repeated endlessly in army gyms.

Soldiers' work is hard and demanding: heavy equipment and many long patrols in difficult terrain require good health and physical fitness .Exercises repeated to perfection and optimal equipment are important elements of the game.

FUT is off-duty training gear in soft cotton with clear references to the training aesthetics of the original training program. All styles have an optimal fit and pair well with HALO (ATW) technical clothing.

The elite special operations force is extremely selective and competitive; thus, it is very demanding, both mentally and physically, to enter the selection course to become an elite soldier .Around 10% pass the program and become full-fledged members of the Corps.
